Holidays to Sicily/other beach resorts in Italy

We would like to go to Sicily this year. Any recommendations for a hotel? We have a 3 and 5 year old so would like somewhere with a mini disco in the evening. Somewhere close to a town so we can get out and explore too. I’m also open to other beach resorts in Italy.

Thank you. Is this a personal recommendation? If so could you tell me more? I had seen this hotel but the reviews are mixed

we went to sicily for a month and stayed in apartments. I personally preferred the east side of the island to the west. I loved our time there but wouldnt go again as I did find it not overly friendly and quite expensive especially the food. If you hire a car make sure its a decent one as some of the roads are shocking.

Not Sicily but when I was a teenager we used to go to Paestum in the South of Italy. That was v nice in terms of weather, food , lovely people. The hotel we went to had a lovely beach but I couldn’t speak in general terms.

Paestum and the Cilento are still hidden little treats overshadowed by their ritzy Amalfi coast neighbour!
