Hotel recommendation in Greece

I’m going round in circles and the fact that no holiday website lets you filter for ‘walkable to restaurants’.

Can anyone recommend a hotel that meets the following criteria?

  • Ideally Greece but not Corfu or Kos.
  • Ability to walk to a nice, picturesque town (for example, we loved Corfu town so a similar vibe).
  • A nice hotel with a large pool (ideally 4 star plus).
  • We don’t have kids so nowhere overtly aimed at kids. Doesn’t have to be adults only but would prefer if the pool didn’t have a splash park!
  • Decent budget but not high end Mykonos money. Around £2k - £2.5k total for a week bed and breakfast.
  • If an island, large enough there’s decent healthcare (I might be pregnant when we go).

Current ones on my shortlist are Parga Beach resort and Domes Zeena Chania but definitely open to suggestions.

thank you!

Following, as we’re looking for similar(!) 🤞

When are you looking to go? The ikos hotels are lovely, but would be over budget in the middle of the summer. BA holidays have options in budget from now march to May and September to October. They're all inclusive rather than b&b but with great quality restaurants with multiple a la carte and dine around options. I've been to 4 different ones and they all have great pools, including a nice spa, and a really relaxed vibe. Not particularly kid focused.

Some of them include extra things like a few days free car hire ro explore the local area, all had bikes to hire, tennis etc. Really enjoyed my holidays there

hmm, actually thinking about it the Ikos hotels aren't particularly near towns to walk to, though the Ikos dassia on corfu is in a small village and has a free bus to corfu town, but i know you aren't looking at going back to corfu. So sorry these might not be quite what you're after.
In Chania I stayed in the SanSal hotel which was a great location and has a small but lovely rooftop pool.

My favourite greek island is Patmos though. It doesn't have an airport so you have to get the ferry from either Kos, Athens or Rhodes. But it's worth it. Its a beautiful island with some great hotels. Grikos bay has a few nice restaurants in walking distance and a wonderfully calm bay to swim in as well as any hotel pools. Its not over developed and apart from being on a few cruise routes with day visitors, it isn't that touristy.

@Alvinne thank you, we actually did IKOS last year and it was amazing, but wanting something that is closer to a town ideally and not all inclusive.

I’ll take a look at the others :)

Look at Rethymno in Crete. Absolutely gorgeous beach town with a Venetian harbour. It's very picturesque and stuffed with excellent restaurants. We stayed at the Sentido Pearl hotel which I think is 4 star. Decent swimming pool and right across from the beach. Town centre is 20-30 mins walk along the front or taxis are cheap and plentiful.

@Craghopper1 thanks! That hotel looks good so will add to a shortlist.

Keep the suggestions coming :)

La piscine Arts in Skiathos. It's a stunning island. I've been all over Greece and it's deffo our favourite. Green with amazing beaches.

The hotel is adult only with a lovely pool area and restaurant. It's in town a few minutes from the bars and restaurants of bustling skiathos harbour. There's a beach walking distance but more stunning ones via local bus or water taxi.

This is a great hotel, have stayed here twice . Swim up rooms really worth it .

We stayed in a small family-run place in Naxos with a pool and short walk to the beach—super quiet and friendly, and the food was simple but tasty and fresh.

I’ve stayed in a few places around Greece, and honestly, if you’re used to certain standards, it's worth checking which Greek hotels are part of international chains. I usually compare them with the ones I liked before, like accor hotels singapore, since they've been consistent with service and cleanliness. You can then look for something similar in Greece that matches that vibe or even better.
