Quieter Family beach holiday package

We would like to go on a first package holiday with our two young children. We would go anywhere in Europe and prefer for the hotel to be on a beach. We would prefer not to be in a very big, busy hotel and dont need to be all inclusive. Has anyone been anywhere like this and can recommend anywhere?

Menorca is a lovely quiet family oriented island, small resorts lovely beaches we’ve had a few holidays on half board basis in small hotels. I will try & remember the name of the hotels & post back.

Thank you. I went into TUI today and the lady working there actually recommended Menorca too. The family holiday brochure she gave me only had one hotel listed in menorca though and it's 10 minute walk to the beach which would be hard with little ones and all our stuff. I will keep looking at tour operators online. It's been many, many years since I had a package holiday.

@Derbybound2022 the hotel we’ve been to a couple of times is the Hotel Xaloc Playa in Punta Prima it’s right opposite the beach I’m sure we went with TUI but was about three four years ago I think Jet 2 also
it’s not fancy but has everything you need the staff are lovely & they have do have some larger two bedroom rooms which you can request via email I can’t remember if we paid a bit extra for those though.

Coming to say Menorca too. My favourite is Cala Galdana and I've been three times. Most of the resorts on the island are lovely tbf, though I'd avoid Santo Tomas- only been through it but it looked much more touristy and busy than the others.

For small family friendly hotels on or near the beach I would look at Greece. I-escape for Kids is a good website to look at for ideas, they don’t list massive hotels.

Menorca is exactly what you want. Cala 'n Forcat. Lovely area, full of restaurants, extremely family friendly, 2 lovely coves. Can't recommend it enough. Lots of hotels to choose from (self catering and using local cafes & restaurants is the best way to go & cheaper than AI). Jimmy Hills is great to go for entertainment too.

I know this thread is a bit old but if you are still around just wondering where you stayed in Cala Galdana?

If you book a package you will often get a larger hotel because of economies of scale. A smaller hotel might not want to take the risk of pre-reserving too many of their rooms with one company, and a package company might not want the bother of serving a hotel with a rep for only a small number of guests. The economics of the hotel industry are very complicated.

Here are three hotels in Majorca where you don't even need to cross a road to get to the beach — you can step off the terrace onto the sand:
Hotel Son Bauló, Can Picafort (quite large, dinner buffet not great so go B&B, rooms are nice and good value)
Hotel Nixe Palace, Palma (quite posh)
Universal Hotel Aquamarin, San Telmo/Sant Elm (wonderful views and surroundings, but not the best base for touring)
