Hurghada with a toddler, would you?

On a desperate hunt for some sun at Easter and without heading long haul to Dubai (where we will be paying double what we did last year for the same hotel?!) it seems the only option for guaranteed hot sunbathing weather is Egypt.

I've been many, many years ago but hear so many stories of people being horrendously ill for days with stomachs and wondering is it stilly to take my 2 year old DD knowing she will have her hands everywhere etc?

Any advice welcome, particularly on resorts for toddlers if you think it's a good idea!

I wouldn’t take a 2 year old in that heat, it’s cruel. How do you intend to sunbathe anyway, it’s too hot for a toddler to be out for any length of time and they’ll burn. And yes you will probably get a tummy upset.

No not with a toddler.
Is Cyprus any good or the Canaries as they seem open all year round.

100% I would go. I've been twice with a toddler in the year. Plenty swimming pools and shade. Amazing place and the people are lovely!

Of course you can go with a toddler. Make sure you have bottles of water in the bathroom for teeth brushing so you are sure she won't swallow the tap water and from here to Easter, try to teach her not to drink or put water in mouth during bath or shower.
There will be plenty of pools (chlorinated so water in mouth not an issue) , shade .
The canaries will have freezing water in pools/sea at Easter and some years, you get rain.

We’re looking at the Four Seasons hotel - I hope we won’t get sick there??

I don't know if the hotel has its own water sanitation implant.
This is true for so many countries in the world, even super fancy hotels in Asia, Caribbean , .... if the country's water isn't safe to drink, you have to take measures. The ice at the hotel will be safe. The ice in any other place in the village if you go out for a walk in late afternoon, you can't know. Same with fruit juices. At the hotel, safe, in the street, they might diluted it a bit with water.

I have never been sick in Egypt and I eat mainly vegetables, so stuff washed or with water as some point in the prep process.
