weekend cottage in August - anybody know of anything?

A group of us (10 adults, 4 kids + our baby dd) want to arrange a weekend away in August. We really want a cottage with 7 bedrooms but we're struggling to find anything that will accept a weekend booking (say Fri to Mon) - most want a full week. We're tied to school hols so it has to be August and not everybody wants to take a full week off work.

Only suggestion so far is Centre Parcs but we would have to have 2 villas and we really want one big place where we can all sit and chat round a kitchen table and catch up on gossip!!

Does anybody know of any suitable cottages that would take weekend bookings?

Have you tried National Trust Holiday Cottages? www.nationaltrustcottages.co.uk/ The last time we booked, they couldn't accept a FIRM booking until last minute, just in case a week booking came in. They may have changed their policy though.
Google holiday cottages and loads of stuff comes up.

whereabouts in the country are you looking for?

I've booked a 7 bedroom barn conversion for a 60th birthday weekend in the Cotswolds

It is very reasonable and looks lovely!

Let me know if you want the info

Hi aznerak,

Apologies for butting in, but I would love the details. We're trying to go away with a group of frieds and its proving so difficult and stressful to find anything suitable we may fall out before we get to go! Would love to hear what you have found

Thanks

sorry, still new to this forum, is it really bad etiquette to ask for additional info if I'm not the original poster? I may be being neurotic or impatient but would love to hear more about the cottage in the cotswolds....

aznerak - sorry, not been on forum for a few days. We're scattered round the country really, but mainly London, so Cotswolds would be suitable. Yes, would be interested in details of that cottage. Ta.
