Salzburg recommendations

My husband and I are going to Salzburg at the start of February for 6 nights - any recommendations? Sightseeing, eating out (especially breakfast ideas), hidden gems etc!

We sadly lost our daughter in December at 25 weeks gestation so this has been an impromptu trip booking where we want to treat ourselves after such a horrendous time ♥️

There’s a massive shop called Christmas in Salzburg which sells everything Christmassy all year round. I could spend ages there just browsing - it’s so pretty!
If possible, take a day trip to either Zell am See or Königssee. Both can be done easily with public transport, but not in the same day!
To eat, I’d recommend Johanneskeller, The Glass Garden and Imlauer Kay Bar.

Salzburg is stunning. We just wandered around for the day, so much to see. We stayed a bit further out near one of the lakes and that was really beautiful too.

Oh I was going to ask exactly the same! Thinking of going this summer and doing a split between a few days in the city and a few days out in the mountains somewhere. Has anyone done similar?
