Riviera maya in summer

We're thinking of booking Mexico Yucan or Riviera Maya in July. I know it will be a bit rainy because its hurricane season and I'm ok with that. What I'm worried about though is the seaweed. I know summer is when it ends to be worst and the last few years has been particularly bad. Has anyone been this time of year? What was it like? We'd be staying in a nice all inclusive. Apparently they do clear it. Will that be enough though or will the beaches still be unusable?

We went to a resort near Puerto Morelos. July last year. The seaweed was dreadful. Big piles washed up on the beach and about 10 foot deep on the shore. And you could see loads of it being washed to shore. We only swam in the sea when we were taken by boat to the reef far out to snorkel. There was sea weed all the way down to Cancun and up to Tulum.
We were advised by the resort not to swim in the sea because you can get infections/rashes from the rotting sea weed.
The resort next door cleared the seaweed and had floating barriers - there was still so much sea weed and very few people swam in that section. It made a tiny amount if difference clearing it. It also stank - like a rotting smell and eggy.
There are facebook groups about the sea weed and some areas dont have it. I would say do careful research. It really put a big dent in the holiday for me. It also made the pool areas much busier.
