Cruise cabins waitlisted?

Hi all, I'm after the collective knowledge of MN... Have been trying to book a cabin for a P&O cruise departing in July. Using an agent, Iglu Cruises. She's trying to book it but the cabins are showing on her system as being waitlisted. Not sold, just waitlisted. She can't tell me what that means! Does that mean the cruise line are withholding them for some reason? Will they come back on sale? Anyone have a clue what it means?!

Hi, not sure what it means but have you tried booking direct with P&O? I have cruised once with P&O but booked directly with them, although I don’t know if you get better deals through an agent.

It usually means that there are no cabins left so you'd be added to a waitlist and notified if one becomes available.

I have used iglu before and they are fine. But they are an agent.

Book direct with p&o to check if they have cabins available

I agree with going direct to P&O.

You might still be on a waitlist, but they have to pay commission to agents so would prefer to have direct bookings.

If you go via an agent and have issues you have very little redress, but book direct and have an issue and you are protected by your credit card, Agents always use this to get out of any issues.
Personally you can find better standards and value than P&O if you shop round.
If you specifically want this cruise some agents have cabins some don't, I don't understand the logic but have seen out where one agent has none and tries to sell you something else but another agent has cabins?
We where also told a Holland America cruise was full but booked it direct for the same price

Could they be being provisionally set aside as covid cabins, depending on the rules and best practice nearer the time?
