Suggestions for weekend away with teen DD

I've recently separated from my husband, and I'd like to do something fun with my DD.

Any suggestions for a weekend break in the UK or Europe that's not too expensive that my 13YO would like?

It depends where you live in the UK I guess and how you'd like to travel and how easy it is for you. For a short European City break I think Amsterdam is nice for a teenager and easy to get to by plane but it depends what you both like to do really. I've also done Iceland (but in the summer).

Sorry, I should have said. We're in the Home Counties.
We've been to Amsterdam and Paris as a family, so would like to try somewhere new.

My daughter is sporty, but I'm not, she not overly keen on old buildings or galleries.

Budapest ? Lots of spas to visit that feel vaguely cultural as well as enjoyable and not too expensive a destination for eating out and hotels.

How about Birmingham? You could do day trips to Cadbury World, Drayton Manor and perhaps the Tamworth Snowdome. It’s got some good theatres which have touring West End shows, at not-quite West End prices.

Barcelona - shed loads to do.

Another vote for Barcelona, I went as a teen and loved it, lots of shops, places to eat as well as some history (and I am not hugely into history).

Mine have enjoyed- Barcelona, Liverpool, York, London, Manchester. Some great free museums in the UK ones, also if you get a deal you can do open top bus/boat trips cheaper (tesco is good for this) can use it as a hop on /hop off system to get round. The youth hostels in Manchester and Liverpool are great locations, like onsuite hotel rooms and reasonably priced.

Budapest is a great option, quite reasonable and feels special
