Valencia in January?

We have the chance to get away at the end of this month for a long weekend and we're thinking Spain might be the best choice for a bit of sunshine at this time of year.

We're thinking either Valencia, Palma or Malaga. Any recommendations? We will have an 8yo with us so somewhere where there's things to amuse him too would be good. Looks like Valencia has a massive zoo?

Valencia has the brilliant Arts and Sciences area. Fantastic for an 8 year old. It is a lovely city to explore. However, just a word of warning, after an unusually mild winter it is supposed to turn very cold towards the end of January. It will probably be sunny though.

Valencia would be my choice of the 3. There’s the zoo, the arts and science area, the beach, the old city, the fantastic Turia park. I loved it

It's currently about 19-20 in Valencia, not sure how cold it gets there but surely not colder than the U.K?

Where would be the better area to stay? The old town or the Arts and Sciences district? I probably wouldn't stay near the beach at this time of year.

I would stay in the old town, public transport is so easy there that you can get the bus or metro to the bioparc or arts and science. The old town is lovely to wander around in the evenings.

100% Valencia.

We visited Valencia in November, 2021. It was warm during the day but very chilly in the evening. It’s a beautiful city, you will love it.
