Where in Tenerife sounds like the place we want to be?

Never been to Tenerife, might try to see if we can get a break there in the next couple of months.

An suggestions re resorts please? No children. Like it to be lively, but not rowdy, with a choice of good bars ans restaurants, but we don't need clubs. Ideally pretty, with places to stroll to of an evening. Also a good base to explore other parts of the island from.
We've enjoyed places like Puerto de Mogan, Port de Soller, Nerja, Lagos, Funchal if that helps give you an idea of what we like.

We stayed in a villa just outside of Puerto de la Cruz for Christmas in 2021 and the weather was lovely - around 23° and sunny with only a few hours of cloud and a couple of spots of rain some days.

I much preferred the north to the south of the island, it is so green and much prettier. I found the resorts down south to be depressing in comparison in all honesty.

A trip up Mount Teide is mindblowing and you have great views of it from the northern side of the island and it is far more accessible. Puerto de la Cruz is a nice town with great restaurants.

I didn't expect to like Tenerife as much as I did and really think you should give it a go!

You’d like North Tenerife. Garachico has a couple of smart hotels. Puerto de la Cruz is different to the southern resorts. There are inland villages to see and the volcano Mount Teide. Also the capital city is ok for a visit. There’s a historical part of the city, La Laguna where the university is.
