Hello!! I've seen the £9.50 sun holidays are back and just getting some advice really if anyone has used this to do an abroad trip? If so- does it actually work out £9.50 per person?? Also, if you could recommend any abroad ones that are close to airports to avoid car hire it would be greatly appreciated!! Smile

It works out at 9.50 per person on some dates. Other dates are more, up to 59.50. The different prices for each set of dates are all on the Sun Holudays website.

I've been on several Europe holidays with this promotion over the years. Duinrell twice and a few in Brittany. The accommodation is the Classic or Comfort Eurocamp chalets. You can check out which parks are accessible on the Eurocamp website.

Almost all the school holiday and summer dates are booked up now for Europe holidays in this promotion. Many (including me) wait up for the final code and book straight away. I've got a week in Brittany in August booked through the promition this year.

@Nootkah just wondering when you book the European ones I'm assuming that doesn't cover travel costs (flights / ferry etc)?

Meredusoleil · 15/01/2024 22:28

Has anyone who has booked accommodation at a European park had their confirmation from the park through yet? Not actually sure what type of accomodation I have booked and may want to upgrade it lol 😆

Nootkah · 17/01/2024 15:22

@Meredusoleil it is usually the most basic.... comfort or classic, depending on the site. You can't upgrade with Eurocamp on the Sun offers.

I thought I saw it mentioned somewhere on the sun holidays website that you can contact the park direct to ask for an upgrade (but obviously it's not guranteed).

Nootkah · 17/01/2024 18:03

@Meredusoleil some park operators offer that, not all. Eurocamp definitely don't. I've done europe holidays most years through the promotion with Eurocamp. You can always ask, it might be different this year.

Oh OK. So in your experience, when do you usually receive the official confirmation from the holiday park?

Nootkah · 17/01/2024 18:20

@Meredusoleil Honestly , usually loads quicker than this most years. Up to a fortnight... But theoretucally it can be 21 working days, so four weeks

Meredusoleil · 17/01/2024 19:01

Well the money for my booking has been taken out of my bank account now. So that's a good sign, right?

Meredusoleil · 17/01/2024 19:07

Also, I think I have booked a standard unit rather than a classic or comfort mobile home. From what I can gather online, it's a villa/chalet type of thing, a bit like a bungalow. Not sure if that's better or worse than a static van in the Italian August heat!

Nootkah · 17/01/2024 20:13

Eurocamp standard units are either comfort or classic mobile homes. If you have a look on eurocamp website you can see what they're like

Wow I've just seen this thread and googled it, amazing! Definitely want to do this this year. Is it quite hard to get a holiday though.. like only a few options left when you actually try and book something?

Flippingheck24 · 17/01/2024 20:26

I have tried two or three times, stayed up late to catch it and never seen one holiday for that price.. I know they do exist but pretty much all I could find was the same price as the holiday park website itself..in fact holiday park direct was cheaper and if you want school hols not a chance. All in all I won't bother again and think it's a rip off.

Nootkah · 17/01/2024 20:31

Ive always managed by staying up to wait for the last code on one of the facebook groups. Have always managed school summer holidays this way. You really do have to be quick for school summer holidays though... Often gone within 2-3 minutes of the last code vecoming known. Also flexible... Not set on certain parks, as there may not be availability for the dates you want.

Why is it a rip off just because you couldn’t find a £9.50 holiday? Lots of people do.

Oh dear! That's doesn't bode well for me then, as some of the classic mobiles homes don't even have AC 🥵 Especially as they are now offering comfort mobile homes for the same park, dates and price which they weren't before 🤦‍♀️

It's such a minefield and it doesn't help that when you get onto the booking form, you only have 10 minutes to complete the booking with a constant countdown timer to remind you to hurry the hell up!

Cbgds87 · 18/01/2024 05:39

Unless you are driving I'd always look for flights first as whenever I've looked in past flight dates never match up and you end up spending crazy amounts on suitabke flights.

Nootkah · 21/01/2024 12:08

@Meredusoleil The eurocamp confirmations are conung through. Hope you got something suitable!

Thanks for letting me know. I only booked a week ago though, so compared to you who booked on the first day, I may have to wait a bit longer.

PS Does the Eurocamp confirmation give more details of the accommodation?

You are getting a holiday for £9.50 🤷🏻‍♀️

Actually, I think you'll find that none of the European Parks come in at £9.50 pp on any dates!
