Croatia, Split region

I am looking to visit the Split region on holiday this year. I have looked at Brac island am an interested in any suggestions of places.

I would like to be in visiting distance of Split city so I can visit and to soak up some history but also want to soak up some sun on a beach.

Any recommendations?

We went to Croatia last summer and had one of the best holidays we’ve ever had.
We flew to Dubrovnik, stayed for 4 nights, then drove up the Makarska Riveria and stayed in Tucepi for 3 nights, then drove to Split and stayed for 3 nights.

Split is gorgeous. We had an Airbnb Villa in Solin, we spent time in Trogir (lovely) and also went to Bol (Brac) island. I did prefer the Makarska Riveria (beautiful beaches) with possibly a day trip to Split and the islands that area…

That sounds amazing. We went to Dubrovnik before covid and loved it
We don't feel comfortable driving by so will be in a hotel and travel by taxi, boat etc
