Canada with toddler?

DC would be 2 years + 2-5 months depending when we go - either June or September to avoid summer holidays.

Would be visiting a family member in Whistler, so probably combine that with vancover or vancover Island if anyone has any suggestions on anything must see, or Canada tips in general.

If it was DH and I it would be all hiking and wildlife and views and visiting lots of places. So it's a bit hard to think about what it will be like! Still happy to put them in a carrier and get out but probably not all day.

It'll be their first flight too, our only other holidays have been eurostar when they were happy with multiple naps and milk! Just want to make sure we all enjoy it as best possible as it won't be a cheap trip.

It’s a long flight and serious jet lag. Your toddler won’t particularly appreciate it and won’t remember it. Do you really have to go now?

Urgh you're echoing my fears! But people do further flights and survive so I'd hope its doable
Not fussed about their memories but would hope we would get some enjoyment out of it.
Family member will only be there another year before moving somewhere even further away so has to be soon unfortunately

My DS was very happy sitting in a pram and being pushed around at 3 but even he wouldn’t want to be in a hiking carrier for ours at that age.

There might be lakes/outdoor pools for swimming? I’m sure there’s plenty for kids in Vancouver.

I took DS to Singapore, Jordan, Antigua and Thailand between 1-3. A pool is an essential for us at that age.
