Experience taking a taxi from Barcelona Airport?

Hi
I am travelling to Barcelona in a few weeks and the air b n b host has recommended that a taxi is the best way to travel to his apartment near Park Guell. He estimated €35 as the cost which is fine. Does this seem right to you and is it easy to get a taxi on arrival or would you need to pre book? It's just with having little kids with me I'd like it to run smoothly if possible. TIA

It will be easy to find one, but I normally use booking.com and someone meets us at arrivals. Looking at that it's giving a price of 38 euros each way.

Thank you , I haven't got a clue as never usually get taxis as prefer public transport but this is definitely going to be easier Smile

There are taxi stands directly outside the airport. You don’t need to book.

Doesn’t matter the airport (as long as it’s an international) the critical aspect is arrival time….

If the Early hours - better to book. Daylight or early evening - may wait a few mins, but there will usually be one waiting.

Thanks for that so easy to get a taxi outside I would think at around 18:00. Any experience as to whether cheaper to book ahead ?

I’m going again in a few weeks. Been every year at least once. Taxis are very very easy. There’s a manned queue just outside the airport so it’s all very orderly. No need to book.

Theres a couple of ways into the city and frankly we’ve never been charged the same price twice even on the metre. €27 is the best €45 the worst. It hadn’t really gone up last year despite higher fuel costs.

Taxis are also a great way to get around Barcelona . I know everyone says the metro is great but you can’t see where you are going and some of the walks between stations are very long. Also you are probably going to want to walk and just need to get back when you’ve had enough. There’s cab stops everywhere or just hail one. We struggled to get one at Parc Guell just because so many people were sick of waiting for the HoHo buses ( all packed) but if you are in a quieter bit of town it will be fine.
