Adults holiday with some luxury - thinking Italy, any ideas?

As per title. Investigating the first adult holiday in a very long time for two couples. Looking for a lovely hotel where we can be a bit pampered. Italy seems preferred destination. Golf a bonus. Doesn’t need to be on beach but able to visit a beach or a lake and the chance to go out and eat at great restaurants but without having to have a hire car maybe…absolutely any suggestions so gratefully revived. Thankyou.

hotelvisavis.com/en/ on the Italian Riviera or www.hlapalma.it/en/sky-bar/ on Lake Maggiore are both highly recommended by me. Not sure about the golf though....Service in both hotels is wonderful along with the views. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance in both cases, plus boat trips, scenery etc.

For Stresa - there is a shuttle from Milan Malpensa, or possible to do by train. Plenty of places to visit by boat. For Vis a Vis - you can fly to Genoa or Pisa and again do by train - and you can visit Portofino, Cinque Terre villages easily from there by boat or train. We didn't need a car.
