Bergen tips

Hi all, just booked some flights and an apartment for Bergen for the summer. Will have three full days there, any tips, must dos or good restaurant recommendations? I know it's expensive, but it'll be likely the only time we go so don't want to miss anything, will have DSs 15 and 10 with us. Looking at fjord day trips so that might be one day. Thanks 🙂

Saw train to Flam recommended with a ferry back when I was doing a little research this morning, so that's definitely something I'm going to look into further. Also planning either funicular or cable car one day for some views (hopefully if the weather is ok) and hiking. Just trying to decide which is best.

Do you think you will do flam railway as a day trip? Or stay in flam?

Maybe look into sea kayaking? Your boys would probably enjoy that?

Hi. Just researching our trip and looking at the flan zip line. Did you see this? Also wondering if you decided yet on foam in a day or two days? I can’t decide that if we are better with more time in bergen

My friend and I did the Flam railway and fjord boat loop from Bergen in a day and it was great! Middle of winter so the entire place was covered in snow and it was so incredibly beautiful. I'm sure it's just as gorgeous in the summer! I loved Bergen.

That sounds great @TheBirdintheCave did you book the train and boat separately or as a package with a company?

Saw the zipline on an episode of travel man @Tumty looks like good fun. Haven't made any firm plans on anything yet.

Will definitely have rain jackets packed 🙂

@ginforall My friend was the one who booked it but I'm pretty sure it was one of those Viator type things where all the tickets are included. We went round ourselves though, we weren't part of a tour group :) I'd love to go back to Norway. We went to Tromso too and did the northern lights, husky sledging, tobogganing and cross country skiing! 😬
