Where should we go?

We’re looking to go away Mon-Fri at the end of Feb to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Don’t want to spend a bomb but do want to leave the country. Very open minded about where we go/what we do- looking to basically see where we can get a last minute deal from.

things we enjoy (need to have some of these not necessarily all!)

history/culture/old buildings
road trips/good scenery
exploring
sitting in coffee shops watching the world go by
good food/nice hotels- Michelin starred or trying local delicacies
enough to do to keep us entertained each day without feeling rushed
preference for weather would either be warmer than here or cold and snowy, rather than more drizzle
not a crazy flight for only 5 days

places I’ve already been that loved but don’t want to repeat:
Budapest
Edinburgh
Krakow
Prague
Barcelona
Istanbul/Turkish coast
Santorini
Southern Norway
Croatia
Paris

also I can’t go to the US currently as I have a medical condition that means I can’t be vaccinated.

my current ideas:
Lisbon
Rome
somewhere else in Italy?
Seville

where else would you put on the list? Are any of my existing options stand out?

I've just booked to go to Malaga as it's warm and their are cheap flights

It looks amazing - lots of modern art museum's restaurants and a beach to chill on

Can't wait

I would go to Seville.

Or Lanzarote, for the Cesar Manrique buildings and centres, the volcano park, the Geria wine growing area and the food (in the less touristy places. But it won’t be Michelin star). Princess Yaiza hotel, Playa Blanca.

Thanks everyone, have loved catching up with all these!

Marrakech and Copenhagen definitely added to list, as well as most Italian cities! I definitely want to do Vienna but am eyeing it up to do the Christmas markets there as I LOVED Salzburg.

South of France also an interesting option, seems to be lots to do there- where would you fly to/base yourself?

We went to Nice. Around 17 Michelin starred restaurants in the vicinity. Train to Monaco and Menton. Great drives to amazing villages - all with something to see and great restaurants. The Villa Ephrussi Rothschild is definitely worth visiting.

Another vote for Malaga. Easy and cheap to fly to and the train links to places along the coast are fantastic.

Jerusalem?

I’d also recommend Helsinki. But yes, it’ll be chilly. It’s an elegant city, you could swim in the Allas Sea Pool, have saunas. You could do a side trip to nearby Porvoo with it’s pretty wooden houses, and cathedral.
