Recommendations for Marrakech

Very excited - I have just booked flights to Marrakech 9-16 April with my best friend. We'll be me, her, my DH, her children (DS19 and DD16) and my children (DS12, DS8 and DD8). So, for most intents and purposes, four adults and four children? Any recommendations for places to stay that won't break the bank (budget up to £2500) or things to do/daytrips to take?

Stay in a riyad in the Medina. They come in all different prices. You don’t need all inclusive - just go B+B. There’s some fabulous places to eat.
we did a cookery class with a woman’s charity amalnonprofit.org/cooking-class/ it’s a short taxi ride from the medina, well worth the effort and supports women.
Jardin majorelle www.jardinmajorelle.com/en/ is a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

We booked our riyad through Booking.com

Thanks soontobe60 I’ve been looking at booking.com and there’s so much choice! Would you recommend the place you stayed at? I love the sound of the cookery class!

The photography museum in the Medina is fascinating and the Le Jardin Secret is a lovely traditional Islamic garden, again in the Medina - the rooftop cafe is a nice place to stop for a while.

If you don't want to haggle in the medina, there's an Ensemble Artisanal Marrakech - basically a fixed price market about 10 mins walk from the main square.

We stayed here was beautiful, from the minute stepped into here was like being in a different world, food lovely, rooms lovely we even got upgraded to a suite and they have a few tortoises that are in the gardens that are super cute www.elmiria.com/en/

6 of us stayed here in October 2019 and we absolutely loved it.
Good location and all bedrooms En suite and the staff provided breakfast and they were lovely.

The roof terrace was a lovely place to be as well. Totally recommended.

Thanks both, I’ve looked up both your recommendations and they look lovely, but do not have spaces…
