Anyone has been to Madagascar.? We're planning a trip to this beautful country next October.

Wonderful experience re wildlife. Culture interesting Have some intersting ceremonies related to death (Keeping family bones and honouring them and parading them on anniversaries). Great variance between city(Antananarivo known as Tana) and countryside, quite a lot of poverty in some areas. Some wonderful countryside. Much easier if you speak French as English not second language. I would not have missed this experience

Did you go @Katarinasmith? Thinking of going this year in October with my DD who will be 6 in October and our baby who is due in march so will be a few months old. Any advice very welcome! :)

We went the year before covid with MadaRako tours. Our guide Oliver was great. They helped us plan the whole trip which was amazing although sometimes quite challenging. I'd not spend much time in Antananarivo and deffo use internal flights as the distances are long and most roads pretty awful. The wildlife. Scenery. People. Trip of a lifetime but it's sobering just how impoverished most people are. There's huge power outages all over for example so in the evenings most hotels rely on batteries or small generators. It's also very expensive as alcohol and most food is imported for western tourists.

There's a good choice though of accommodation main,y for French tourists.

I'd say give yourself time to rest. There's beautiful beach hotels. And don't be too ambitious. Also I'm pretty hardy but I had the worst gastric trauma one evening. It passed quickly but I was miserable. Happy to give details of the your etc.
