Skiathos - Elivi or Princess Resort?

Hi, any personal experience with these two resorts on Skiathos island in Greece? We're normally not after this type of resorts but plan to be travelling this summer with our twin daughters (18 months around the time of the holiday).

We have booked skiathos for this year. We are staying at skiathos premier in talous. Looks like a fab island and easy to get around. The princess looked fab but we have teenagers now so like to go out for meals and explore a bit. It was definitely one of the hotels I looked at x

We've been to skiathos for about 20 years with kids as babies/toddlers and now teens. We love it, we've also stayed at Elivi last year, what would you like to know?

@LoisLane23 what would you recommend to do on the island? Have you visited the mama Mia island?

I could have written this exact post OP. Will be keen to see what others day. I think Elivi looks more upmarket but the impression I get is staff are a bit unhappy looking and prices at on site restos are high.

Hi all, skiathos itself is really lovely, very family friendly and super easy to get around, short flights from UK and a lovely traditional town centre. All the beaches are mainly in the south off one big main road serviced by one bus that just goes to and from the town centre dropping off at all the small resorts on the way. There's enough to do for 18 mth babies as the beaches are generally very shallow and calm (not windy as lots of other Greek resorts). The town centre is buzzy with loads of eateries and great shopping. You can catch boats to Sklopelos (mamma Mia) but we've never bothered. We usually stay in villa in the north but treated ourselves to Elivi after lockdown, it's fairly new, very chic, two 'private beaches ' which are lovely, and run by the hotel but weirdly the public can use them (but not the loungers), they are in a pine forest so quite hard find.) we stayed in a private villa with plunge pool, it was ok, comfy but quite a small room
For the price (but I have two slightly older kids). The Inc breakfast is excellent and it's very chic and spread out. The restaurants on site are lovely but be warned they are NOT cheap. There's a kids club but better for smaller kids, and some sort of kids disco but it definitely doesn't feel over done on the kids front. We found the staff absolutely lovely, mainly students from Athens over for the summer. The main issue is Elivi is the furthest point away from the skiathos town which is the other end of the island so
At least 30 mins on a bus or
In hire car. There's not many restaurants outside of Elivi locally. Happy to answer anything else! Think the skiathos princess has a good reputation and a lovely beach but Elivi has the edge in terms of being modern and higher end.

Great info. Thank you @LoisLane23. I can't wait for some sunshine.

@LoisLane23 star!!! Thank you so much x

Thanks, that’s very insightful indeed! I’ve been spending summers in Greece for many years but funny enough, have never been to Skiathos. We’d be keen for something a bit closer to the town as we’re keen to go out and dine out. I’m really not someone that confines to a resort and it’s honestly not worth it in Greece.
