Help! Affordable accommodation in the Netherlands

Our accommodation cancelled us and so we are looking for one night (June 1). Can be anywhere near a train station offering easy connection to Rotterdam. Doesn’t have to be at all fancy. All I am getting is the most basic of rooms for 150 euros plus!

Lodgement De Gaaper in Amersfoort. In the main square but walkable to the station?

Have you looked at XO Hotels?

We stayed in one in Amsterdam, huge room, spotless, Premier Inn type deal, very cheap despite being July.

Where do you want it to be? I just stayed in Ibis in Rotterdam over Xmas and it was about 100 euros a night.

I can also vouch for XO Hotels, just come back from Amsterdam ourselves after staying for a couple of nights in an XO Hotel. From the outside I thought 'oh dear, what have I booked us into'! But as soon as you enter the Hotel it is lovely and clean, well presented, warm and lovely showers! I also got the vibe of Premier Inn/Travelodge type. And reasonably priced too. I know that they had lots of XO Hotels around Amsterdam, just not sure if they extend further into Netherlands itself.

How many of you are travelling? I've just looked on Booking.com, searching for one room for two adults, for that date and the first match was a room for £70 in Rotterdam, Hotel Breitner. Don't know if it just showed me that because I stayed there recently... anyway, it's a very pleasant hotel so could be worth a look.

Thank you. We were a party of seven which probably didn’t help! Managed to find a B and B in Leiden but will bear the suggestions in mind for next time. I think we will be back (hopefully at a less busy time !)
