Dubai Airport - 7 Hours Between Flights

Hello Mumsnetters,

I will be travelling via Dubai with a 2.5 year old in the not too distant future and will have just over 7 hours in the airport to fill. I had a quick Google of the facilities available there but just wondered if anyone else had first hand experience of how to happily while away this time as 7 hours feels like a long time!!!! We won't be able to leave the airport unfortunately. Thanks in advance.

Have you looked to see if there are any day hotels?

Best bet might be to head to Dubai Mall .. can get lovely photos if Burj Khalifa.. then walk in and eat at social cafe .. but be inside if your little one needs some quieter time or a nap ( we used to go to the cinema just so ours could nap and we could have a rest).... or another option jumeirah beach residence the walk had lovely shops/ restaurants and the beach. Third option is the water taxis at Dubai Creek and souq... lovely waterside fish restaurant but think it might be too much for your tiny tot ...

OP has said she can't leave the airport!

Sadly it's not a great airport for transit facilities. But it's big and you can normally find a quiet corner so at least your toddler can have a really good run around. Do you have a push chair which you can take on board with you so you can have it with you in case it's needed for a nap.

Oops sorry ! It's a lovely airport .. safe and friendly ... lots ( 6/7) lounges so would pay for one of them
