Valencia - family friendly

Anyone with experience of Valencia with kids? Talk to me please about accommodation in the centre and what experiences & food not to miss!

We're a family of 5 with toddler to primary aged DCs. Would love to be able to walk with pushchair to sights, museums, and meals.

(Thinking apartment for convenience but perhaps a hotel if they have the right configuration? Not very keen to cook but could be useful to have facilities if kids need something.)

We stayed at The Westin Valencia. It’s in a fantastic location and they have interconnecting rooms so they can easily accommodate larger families.
The ‘must-dos’ with kids are the Bioparc, science museum, aquarium, the beach, Gulliver Park, toy soldier museum and Turia Gardens. Our favourite was the aquarium. You can get a speedy lunch in the restaurant, there are plenty of toilets and everywhere is buggy accessible.
It’s really easy to hire bikes in Valencia. There are bike hire places everywhere and it costs around 10€ per day. You can get child bikes, children’s helmets and baby seats too. Turia Gardens is massive and it’s all pedestrianised. Throughout the gardens you’ll find play areas, lakes, cafes, and all sorts of other things going on!
Definitely have a paella there. Beware the giant portion sizes though – a paella for two was easily enough for three adults and a child! Everywhere we ate, we ended up over ordering. We also struggled with opening hours. The Spanish eat later in the day and with most tourists in the city seemingly not British a lot of places didn’t open for dinner until 8:30. That’s a little late for my dc!
For evening meals, we ate twice at Gordon10. They were open nice and early and very welcoming of my dc.
I’d also recommend fresh churros. They’re not quite as sweet as when we buy them here in the Uk and they have a much richer chocolate sauce. Delicious!

Definitely going to take up the paella and churros suggestion and handy to know of an earlier dinner option.

We're likely going for 5 days so hopefully enough time to fit stuff in.
