Tell me about some of your best holidays?

I am looking at booking summer holidays soon and am after some ideas of what people have considered to be some of their best holidays for inspiration. We have two teenage children and love experiencing new places. Places we have enjoyed in the past have included Cuba, Thailand and Greece.

I've been to every US state. Favourites would have to be the Dakotas, Alaska and Texas.
Central Asia is fascinating.

Have only done Europe with the family

Cirali, Turkey. We stayed in Canada hotel when the kids were small run by the most lovely couple. Lovely beaches, history, river restaurants, hippy village vibe, turtles etc.

Cyprus - the east coast beaches are amazing, don’t let aya napa put you off! Combine with the west coast for more traditional feel but not so nice beaches

Yes! Apart from Thailand and Spain, Italy and Mexico are my fave places too. Just watch for sargassum in Mexico - so much to see and do though. Jordan is amazing too, very compact but packs so much in.

We are not very widely travelled but Sicily in a villa with a hire car was fab.
A train and plane tour of uk staying in Dublin, Edinburgh, Cambridge.. take your pick
Washington DC and a car trip around Virginia, North Carolina and back up Chesapeake.
Drive to Denmark via Germany with a few days in Amsterdam on the way home.

My favourite holidays with teenagers have been cruises to anywhere on the big all singing all dancing ships. A trip to Brazil and Argentina, Center Parcs with the cousins, cruise and stay holidays in the Med so for example a few days in Rome and then a cruise or a cruise with some good excursions and then a week all inclusive in Turkey with a good animation team.

Can I ask what hotel you stayed at in Turkey please?

Where do you recommend in south of France for a family holiday (villa self catering) with a 7 year old who needs more than just a beach 😀
