Hi

looking to go to Palma end of may or July with 9 year old.

any ideas where to stay.. is Palma Nova too close to Magaluf?

i want to be close to waterparks and trips out etc but not stuck in the middle of all the clubs.

would like a hotel with good evening entertainment for my daughter (or near places that have things on for kids in the evenings) and slides etc.. any hotel/area recommendations would be great please

thank you!

Alcudia. It's absolutely stunning!

We stayed in Palmanova earlier this year and I wouldn’t go again. It was far enough away from Magaluf but very “Brits abroad”. Lots of English/Irish pubs called things like The Prince William.
Lots to do and I’m sure kids would probably like it but it wasn’t somewhere I enjoyed going for a wander to find somewhere for dinner in the evening. Mallorca has lots of other much prettier resorts.

Portals Nous is nice and a short taxi or bus ride from magaluf and palmanova where the water parks are.

I would say in Paguera- big enough to be a resort, but close enough for water park at Magaluf or nipping to Palma on bus - the Rui at illletas is a good option too. We have stayed in portal Nous lots of times and the port down at port portals is great in a' bling' way- hotel choice isn't huge though -the hotel we stay at there is lovely but doesn't do night time stuff- hence why I'm suggesting illetas

Alcudia without a doubt

Alcudia is a 40 minute drive from Palma. The old town is beautiful and the beach is lovely.

We have stayed in Playa de Palma, which is good - you can get the bus into Palma old town to see the cathedral and mooch around the shops, plenty of ice cream shops for a pit stop. Then there's the aquarium in playa de Palma, which we all enjoyed and you can also get the old train to Soller. We stayed in the Iberostar. It's only 10 minutes drive from the airport too, which is a bonus.

We also love Puerto de Pollensa, lovely beach and very nice hotels. Pollensa old town is stunning. Easy access to day trips to Formentera beach on the boat. Think that's around 50 minutes from Palma.

Puerto Portals is practically same place and is gorgeous. Not sure there's much for children through. Puerto Pollensa is gorgeous and there's plenty to do. There is a resort hotel in the west of Puerto Pollensa with lots for children to do. There's a bus stop right outside and costs very little.

Puerto pollensea is very beautiful

Insotel cala mandia is further away from where you’re looking but by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at for kids! So many pools and restaurants to choose from and really spacious rooms
