Affordable holiday for single parent and 2DC

Looking for suggestions to take my 2 DC (10y & 8y) abroad on my own for the first time. It needs to be affordable as I'm on a low income but really want to do this this year. Beach/pool other kids for company would be ideal. Any suggestions? Thanks 😊

I would look at overlapping with May half term - some of the holiday in the school holidays, but miss 2/3 days of the first week back. Not as bad as a whole week off school but a way to save £200-300 or even get a free child’s place.

The last week of august is very often cheaper

Spain is often cheaper than other places

there is all inclusive deals for £1574 the last week of august on Tui

My friend picks up holidays in Turkey - Hotels with multiple pools - temperature good in May half term or she sneaks the odd day off attached to an Inset to be able to afford to give the kids a holidays. She also does short Haven breaks. Mine is more a wellies and waterproofs UK coast family

I'd look at something like Eurocamp.

What is your definition of affordable? Are you willing to drive?

Generally you most affordable option is self catering in france m, Normandy or Brittany to keep driving down. The holiday packs have kids clubs, a pool etc - Pierre et vacances is a good starting point.

If you want to fly, turkey is probably your best option price wise but do a search, very late in the holidays is usually cheaper in the summer.

I've posted this on other threads but I always took my DC on The Sun £9.50 holidays. They were great! You don't even have to buy the paper, you can get the code words online via the MSE forums.
