Looking for somewhere that will still be warm and family friendly (3 year old and a 5 year old)

Could do Easter but would prefer October.

Thanks!

We went to Turkey this half term and it was just right. About 25/26 degrees and sunny every day.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 29/12/2022 20:16

That sounds ideal, thanks!

Yes to Turkey we went in October half term and the weather was lovely.

Been to tenerife and Gran Canaria for October half term. They were perfect. Late 20s. Also been to dubai which is fab at that time of year but controversial…

Bobbybobbins · 29/12/2022 20:19

Canaries would be nice then

ZestFest · 29/12/2022 20:21

We went to Majorca this October half term and the temp was between 26-30 really much warmer than we anticipated

LoveAHolidayOrTwo · 29/12/2022 20:58

Cyprus.

minipie · 29/12/2022 23:40

Yep Cyprus.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 30/12/2022 14:10

Hadn't thought about Cyprus. Thanks!

Lanzarote was fabulous last half term. Late 20s. The Turkish government is currently beating, poisoning and murdering its stray dogs in horrendous ways instead of properly addressing the issues. Might want to give Turkey a swerve.

Following.

HalleLouja · 31/12/2022 07:46

Definitely Cyprus. We have been loads and the temperature is great. Usually 25 to 28 degrees.

It does get dark early though.

We stayed at Seaside Los Jameos in Lanzarote in October. Fantastic temperatures and would be a great hotel for that age group.

Mind you Oct 22 temperatures were bizarre. It was hotter in the Dordogne than in the Canaries, so you may be ok with resorts that are cheaper then such as Majorca.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 31/12/2022 08:41

Agree October 2022 was hotter and drier than normal. Half term in October 2022 was also a week earlier for us than it is in 2023. Most hotels and resorts in the Balearics (and possibly many other destination, just speaking from experience) close at the end of October so no shops, restaurants, bars etc open so be careful. We left Ibiza on 30th October and the resort had been gradually closing all week and was pretty much done that day. The hotel had been removing sun loungers all week as guests reduced. Canaries is a safer option for the weather and full holiday experience but you could consider Majorca near Palma which stays open, the Algarve, near Faro or southern Spain too.

We went to Corfu last half term, the weather was amazing. A friend was in Rhodes at the same time and it was also very warm. In previous years we have been to the canaries and it's been lush.

Sicily
Malta

yaflouloci · 01/01/2023 08:38

Meant to say Crete too. Sicily last October was 30°c+.

Any Southern European places stay really warm.

yaflouloci · 01/01/2023 08:38

Sardinia too!

veiledsentiments · 01/01/2023 08:39

I live in Cyprus. It rained for the whole week of the October half term in the Paphos region.

Mammyofonlyone · 01/01/2023 09:02

Morocco, love it!

Turmerictolly · 01/01/2023 09:34

Rained in Crete this October half term but was warm and sunny the week after. I think Greece is a bit hit and miss so would head for the Canaries for more or less guaranteed sun or long haul.

OxanaVorontsova · 01/01/2023 09:38

Malaga - plenty to do plus beach

sunseeker19 · 01/01/2023 13:59

Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Tenerife all lovely that time of year, and great destinations with DCs your ages!
