We are going to try to get away somewhere warm n the next few weeks, - probably Canaries, don't want long haul as may need to get back quickly.
We usually use booking.com for our accommodation, and are happy to do so this time but was wondering whether there are good sites for last minute deals (like lastminute.com, but I've not found them that much cheaper than booking.com in the past).
We haven't done a package holiday in decades, to give us complete flexibility on flight timings and accommodation but would be happy to look at these too, just very out of touch with best operators.
We are 2 adults, happy to pay £150-£200 per night for the right accommodation IF the price genuinely reflects the quality of the accommodation rather than because we're booking last minute, prices tend to go up on booking.com nearer the time rather than down.
So recommendations appreciated for good sites for last minute bookings, including package holidays; specific accommodation recommendations in the Canaries (i have a couple from a previous thread re Gran Canaria, but given that we might be limited by flight/hotel accommodation, will be exploring all Canaries.)
Other thing: DH prefers hotels, I prefer SC for this kind of holiday so we'll look at both. Ideal would be a hotel, where rooms have SC opportunity, can be minimal (eg decent fridge, not just a minibar), plates, cutlery, microwave/hob. Don't need full SC, can manage without a dishwasher/washing machine etc, just enough to be able to chill beer, and lunch stuff if we are having a lazy pool day.
I am doing my own googling but cuts down the time if you have some recommendations to start with.
