The Charlotte Street Hotel is absolutely utterly and totally fabulous!

We stayed this weekend for dh's bday and were so impressed....it put recent stay at one aldwych into the pale...

we had a free room upgrade and so were in a deluxe double and god was it: two level, huge bathroom, massive bed with gorgeous decor, sofa and beautiful smellies.

complimentary champagne as was a birthday and the staff couldn't ahve been more discreet, charming and helpful.

fantastic location and a great library honesty bar.

really really really great place. won't ever stay anywhere else in london again. thought you might like to know.

Have blimming broken rib though No wonder have been feeling so vile

Heathcliffscathy · 03/02/2008 19:43

Aaah... happy memories of the bar there... how I miss London sometimes...

Maidamess · 03/02/2008 19:45

I've just looked at the pictures online, it looks beautiful. However much I wish to live a Charlotte Street Lifestyle however, I have a Travel Lodge income!

WideWebWitch · 05/02/2008 17:33

Poor cd but lol at gimp mask

Oh really Soph, was it fab? OK, I will try it next time we go away. I really do like to know these things, thanks for the rec.

PrincessPeaHead · 13/02/2008 18:01

Ha! I threw DH's 40th birthday party there. Took over the private cinema in the basement and had a surprise party, cocktails and dinner followed by a screening of his all time favourite ever film.... it was FANTASTIC

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/02/2008 18:04

Sounds lovely.
Poor CD.
lol at gimp mask.

What was the film PPH?

PrincessPeaHead · 13/02/2008 18:49

MarsLady · 13/02/2008 18:54

So.... is this the reason you're not out dancing? You're doing a different kind of dance in a posh London hotel!

Tutter · 13/02/2008 18:58

ooh pph, i might have to steal your idea for dh's 40th next year

has been thinking abotu hiring a mahoosive house but could be too much to try to manage requirements for all friends plus kids

adults only evening bash much easier

was it fabulous? budget requirements by email pretty please ...

MrsBadger · 13/02/2008 18:59

I had my hen there - couldn't muster enough people to have a screening but the dinner was terrific

bluesky · 02/06/2008 12:20

Just to add to this thread, as I got the recommendation from you all ....

.... it was wonderful, we stayed at the weekend for my birthday and wedding anniversary.

Got upgraded to a Junior Suite, beautiful room, busy bar then out to eat at Roka the japanese restaurant a few doors down.

Can really really recommend it!

ChipButty · 02/06/2008 12:25

Can I be vulgar and ask for room rates?!!

bluesky · 02/06/2008 13:16

Prices start at £220 all the way up to £1150!!!!! (plus VAT)

worth phoning them though as sometimes they have offers. Price doesn't include breakfast, but when I phoned we got a price that did include breakfast.
