Beach holiday in Italy

Looking to go to Italy next summer with teens and young adult dc. Teen dd not interested in sight seeing at all. We'd like a coastal resort near a beach with some interesting things to do nearby for those who want it. The actual beach isn't that important but we want a hotel with nice pools, plenty of sunbeds etc.

Where would you recommend? Dh and I have been to Sicily recently which we loved. We thought maybe Sardinia? Or where else on mainland Italy should we consider?

Just giving this a bump as I would love to see recommendations too!

Ostia is a beach town on a direct short rail link to Rome. Also Ostia antica nearby. We had a lovely month there in an Airbnb right on the water

Sardinia is lovely. Especially the beaches. The Italians in my experience love the beach and don't go for the pool complex/AI thing at all.

www.delphinahotels.co.uk/index_en.html has a nice range. We stayed at Cala di Falco. Did day trips to Madalena Islands and Corsica.

hotelvisavis.com/en/ This hotel is lovely and handy to explore Ligurian coast, Portofino and the Cinque Terre.

www.residenceoliveto.it/en/home We've also stayed here. 5 mins from sandy beach.

Sorrento? No beach as such but beach clubs/platforms where you can stay for the day with sunbeds, sea access. Lots of lovely hotels - check TripAdvisor etc. Lots of history within an easy train ride (Pompeii, Herculaneum). You can even get to Naples in an hour on the train. Boat trips out to islands like Capri, wonderful trips up and down Amalfi coast.
