I'm hoping those with prior experience of these parks can provide a summary of them to help me pick which one/ones are best to do. I have a 10 and 13 year old, both adventerous, so Xcaret looked great - is one day there enough? Are the other parks different enough from Xcaret to do as well? Which other parks would you recommend if so? TIA!

We've only been to Xcaret and Xel-ha (as Xplore didn't appeal to us but might to adventurous teens) and Xcaret was many years ago. We really enjoyed both though, and I'd like to go back to both. I think a day at each is enough, just look at a map before you go and plan what you want to do and the order you're going to do it in.

I have done all three - Xel Ha we thought was the best, rubber rings through the mangroves as surreal. Xplore my boys thought the zip Wires were too slow and got bored, but driving through the trails on the jeeps was so much fun. Xacaret is good but get there as soon as it's opens the water gets packed. One day at each is enough, make sure you buy water shoes to go around all day. Make sure you do a trip to some cenotes too, they are so cool.

Be aware that all these parks keep wild animals captive.

it’s perfectly possible to swim with turtles, whale sharks and see dolphins in their natural habitat in Riviera Maya.
