Niseko Japan with a baby - please help

First time mum, first time in Japan.

Please anyone tell me if I can buy formula over there for a 6 months old (formula fed?)
I am unable to bring any with me as I'm currently overseas in a country with questionable quality formula.

All supermarket websites are in Japanese so I can't understand their stock.

Niseko seems more isolated than I thought... I'm getting worried now. Maybe I should try and stock up at Tokyo airport during a layover?

There seems to be a drug store in nearby Kutchan but I don't recognise any of their brands.
Any word of advice would be much appreciated 😕

(Was going to post in skiing but this isn't really related to that)
Thank you

You should be able to
find formula in most supermarkets or drugstores, unlikely in the small conbini’s. Could you email your hotel and ask for help?

I don’t think you’ll find any brands here that you would recognise abroad.

Try joining Tokyo Expat Women on facebook and ask an sos post there.

We're staying at the villa type place and the staff said they're not sure; they said they're still looking

Looking Online there seems to be a lot of brands for toddlers. I'm guessing 6 months formula isn't in demand as a lot of babies would be breastfed?

Thank you that's a great shout on the fb group. I've joined one for Niseko mums but only 40 people on there and very quiet.

I guess you are only staying a short time 1-2 weeks, so I would recommend picking some up at Tokyo, just to be on the safe side.

Here is a blog post about different formula types for babies in Japan.

bestlivingjapan.com/guide-to-baby-formula-in-japan/

The hohoemi raku raku cubes can be good if you are staying a short time as they are really easy to use. You don't need to measure them.

I think it might be a hassle looking for drug stores in Hokkaido. Some of these isolated communities don't have a lot of babies, so the drug stores are more geared towards the elderly.

I hope you have a great skiing trip!

Thanks @Youkai yes staying for 2 weeks only.

We're actually going to Niseko which is 4 hours from Hokkaido. I really hope I find formula in Tokyo airport but I really don't know if they'll have it.

I'm hoping bub will just take up any formula I give him 😄🙏🏻
