What things couldn't you live without ?- taking 5 month old to the Canaries

Ola!

We are going on holiday to the Canaries next month and am wondering whether from previous experience, anyone has any ideas on what we should be taking. The hotel doesn't have a baby club and so there will be no toys. Difficult to know where to draw the line - do you take playmat, bouncy chair etc etc? By the time we've packed up all our sons stuff, we'll have enough room for some sun tan lotion and a change of knickers! Any advice, most gratefully received....

i would take next to no toys and buy some tat out there. a 5 month old doesn't really need much in the way of toys. probably be perfectly happy playing with your socks.

I wouldn't take any entertainment stuff, tbh

I would take a sling or a pushchair, whatever you normally use.

Clothes

Sunscreen, etc.

Babies are very good at adapting to new environments and there will be plenty of stuff you can use as toys.

I wouldn't really take toys on holiday for my 4 and 2 yos let alone a baby!

I went to the Canaries with a 5 month old. Due to the lack of toys and equipment she used to lie on a blanket (belonging to the accomodation) and she learnt to roll. This was quite something as none of my babies have been rollers, except for dd2 on that holiday.

She played with a small coloured ball on that holiday, also those sets of little stacking pots are really useful - they can be stacking toys, sand play and water/bath play.

We used to prop her sitting up in the sand and she'd fiddle with the sand, eat it etc, wave a litte spade about.

We took Dd at 8 weeks and had a playmat that folded up into a carry bag, We also took a samsonite pop up travel cot, which folds down really small.

Agree with the others you dont need as much stuff as you think you will, have a good holiday!
