Hi i was wondering of there is anyone that knows what the process is for lost luggage. My dad flew from the UK to Frankfurt then onto Colarado. On arrival at Colarado they couldn't locate the luggage for the entire flight of people! Its been 5 days and my dad has had to buy medication for his heart which cost him over 600 dollars will this be refunded as I can't seem to find anything for this?

God, what a nightmare. Has he sent you details of the policy? I assume you can't call the insurance company as they will only speak to him, and he doesn't want to make an expensive call from the US? I think it would be worth him talking to them directly to get the cost authorised. Has he been in touch with the airline to see if he can get them to reimburse these costs?

He should first try to claim this and any other replacements he had to buy from the airline, if not then from travel insurance.

We had to claim expenses back earlier this year and not much guidance is given. We just listed everything and included receipts. We didn't claim for medication but did include toiletries, etc. and was compensated for everything.

However, there are some exceptions iirr as they shouldn't be put into hold luggage. I think it is listed in the T&C of travel, which obviously no one actually reads. So, for example, you can't claim for things like laptop s. I'm sure some medication is included in this.

My advise would be to claim for everything and they will then get back to you to clarify.

We claimed through the airline. Didn't need to use travel insurance as they paid everything.
