I want to try to get to Lapland in 2024. 2 adults, 2 kids. Kids will be 7 & 8. Does anyone have any recommendations? One day? 2 days? Which company to travel with ??

It's a minefield!

Minimum 2 days, ideally 3 - then your activities are longer and you get to see and do more, especially after you factor in travelling time.

Your children are the perfect ages. Would definitely recommend no less than 3 nights. Ideally 4. We've just got home from a trip to Ruka with TUI and it was amazing. Can't fault them. They are at the cheaper end of the Lapland market. You don't get full length excursions like you do with Canterbury and Transun who are the specialist operators though - just tasters of huskies, snow mobile, reindeer etc. it was still a great morning and in -25 temps a few minutes of each was plenty for our kids. They really enjoyed the huskies in particular so we just booked a longer trip locally and it still worked out cheaper.

Oh just one more thing...don't book before mid December if you can help it. The snow has been late a few times and many of the activities can't run without a decent 20cm or so.

We just went last week. Join some Lapland Facebook groups and read up a bit. As pp said you don’t want to go before mid December as risk of no snow higher. Think about whether you want to be in resort or rural. We did 4 nights and wouldn’t have wanted less. It’s magical and unforgettable. No super cheap options so just plan carefully so you get the trip you want!
