Looking for suggestions for summer 23. Traveling from Uk with teenagers. Temps up to 30 fine but not over that hence ‘warm’ Not wanting to replicate previous trips but for reference have been tk and enjoyed France, Greece, Austrian Slovenian and Bavarian Alps. Like idea of Exodus/Intrepid style trips but they are fairly pricey so probably flight and accommodation DIY. Any suggestions?

Zakopane is a lovely (if slightly touristy) town at the foot of the Tatra Mountains in Poland, bordering Slovakia. Plenty of stuff to do in and around there and the treks are gorgeous (and fairly easy!). It's about 2 hours by (very easy and well organised) public transport (coach or train) from Krakow, which is also a brilliant and historical city to explore and has direct flights from many UK airports. I loved it!

We had a good summer week in Zakopane too - lots of walking. Cable car and funiculars with walks back down. Horse drawn carriage to Morske Oko. Some white water rafting somewhere nearby. Trip in to Krakow to visit the city and the Salt Mines - which are incredible! We decided against visiting Auschwitz that trip though others in our group did. I do slightly regret it now.

We went "interailing" with my teen before Covid which was a hit with her. I booked the trains myself though which worked out cheaper. Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, Vienna, Tirol and Munich over 3 weeks.

We did a road trip from Krakow to Vienna via the Tatras and Bratislava. Had a bit of everything. We walked, went rafting and rode horses in the Tatras. We stayed in a hostel in Central Krakow, picked up a car for the Tatras and dropped it at Bratislava then got the train to Vienna. Accommodation was all B&Bs or hostels in Slovakia and we had an apartment in Vienna.
We've also done a multi centre walking trip in Croatia with a couple of days in Dubrovnik.
