Christmas holiday 2023

Hello

I have a significant birthday next year and was hoping to go somewhere sunny was thinking of somewhere like St Lucia or the Maldives or Thailand. Wanted to go with husband and 3 teens and an older child. Has anyone done anything similar? Any locations that are recommended? We haven't been abroad for 10 years so a bit daunted!

Depends what you all want to do - especially the birthday girl woman!

I've not been to St.Lucia or the Maldives, they seem to be basically beach holidays that don't appeal to me.
Thailand is very interesting. If you want to laze about for a while, you could have a 2-centre holiday with a bit of beach & Bangkok.

Or look at the Southern hemisphere for sun in December.
South Africa perhaps?

We went to Mauritius at Christmas with 3 teens and they loved it. All swimmers thought so hours spent snorkelling or at the pool were not boring for them. Loads to do too; mountains, cities and interesting culturally.

we've done Maldives then too, but there is much less to do.
