Me, DH and the two kiddies (age 8 and 1)are planning on popping to Paris over half term. Where can we stay in one room/suite? Also any touristy advice...places to eat, see etc? Any advice will be gratefully received and I 'll bring you back a baguette!

We stayed here with 3 boys in the summer. Was great and there was a really nice place to eat over the road with a very reasonable wine list.

citadines look good for people with kids as have small kitchenette. Search paris threads. I was asking recently and an apartment-let company was recommended. I'd book with them. Although am not going this easter after all.

The gallery/musem is shut on a tuesday - cant remember the name of the blinking place sorry.

First time I went with my dd who was 7 and we had fab time - did tower, disney for the day, hunch back of notre dame, and the musem/gallery to see the mona lisa.

Went back a couple of easters ago and forgot it is shut on a Tueday - it is worth going in and wandering around.

Residence Henri VI is supposed to be very good - does suites with tiny kitchens so you can cook in if you like. It will come up on an internet search, but it is v popular so not sure if you will be lucky at short notice.

We went in December with 2DS´s, 5 and 2 had a ball. Bloody cold though, but you won´t have that problem hopefully. We went to the Museum of Magic in the Marais, not great as a museum but has small live magic shows through the day so that can be fun if they are interested. Think it was relatively expensive for what it was though. Jardin du Luxembourg is great, lots of space to run around, horse rides and a very nice pay-to-enter playground that is fenced, has a coffee bar, loos etc and some nice equipment. Lovely bistro just outside the gates as well (to the right of the palace as you look at it), very child friendly when we were there. Eiffel tower fun but big queues. Also the museum of the sewers which is supposed to be great, not sure how successful you will be with a buggy but could be good for the 8yo.

Angelique is a great cafe on the Rue de Rivoli, does the most amazing hot chocolate you have ever seen, literally like liquid chocolate. Never seen such a mess with the kids, but they loved it.
