Lanzarote in January- what to wear

We are off to Lanzarote in January and I have looked at how warm it will be but I can’t figure out what kind of clothes I need. For the girls, I’m going to pack dresses with leggings and cardigan in case it’s colder. Will I be OK with dresses and a denim jacket or will I need jeans and a top?

I was in Lanzarotte this Jan and it was hot and dry. I would just bring your usual summer wardrobe plus a cardi and or hoodie each.

We went in February one year, and had a fair bit of rain. It wasn’t cold, but not boiling hot either.

We went in Feb a few years ago. It was lovely during the day, if breezy, but cool at night. I would take more than dresses and cardigans. Was glad I took jeans tbh.

January last year in the canaries I took jeans and a couple of tops that I could wear with a thin anorak (travelled in this) over if it was cool and needed this for a couple of the evenings. Mostly just summer dresses and a denim jacket was fine

Travel in jeans and top (as it'll probably be cold here) then you've got them with you if you need them.

It can be very windy, so i would take something warmer for evenings just in case.

I am going in a few days’ time and I have been before in late December. I’m planning to pack a usual summer wardrobe (bikinis, dresses, shorts, sandals), with jeans and a jacket for the evening as it is a bit cooler then.

Thanks guy. I just chucked my small rain coat out thinking I would buy a new one in spring.

Hmm. It's very changeable.

One year we went in December and it was 22 during the day, sunny but windy, warm enough for a paddle.

Another year we went in January and it was between 14-17, pretty chilly, and a really cold wind in the evening so we wished we'd taken proper jackets.

Been to Lanzarote in Jan, Feb and March. It can be chilly early in day and at night. As soon as sun goes down. Take warmish layers for the evening even if you're inside. One year we forgot and spent every evening huddling under a thin blanket! I can be hot in the day, it's usually windy though and if the sun goes in it's suddenly cold. You basically need layers, sunhat and cream. Don't be fooled by the wind - you can really burn even if your don't feel hot or if it's cloudy. You're in Africa after all. Have fun!
