Hotels suitable for toddlers in Europe

Can anyone reccomend a good hotel and location somewhere in Spain, Portugal or southern Italy (or similar) that is good with babies/toddlers. Doesn't have to have a kids club but just be good at sorting foot and not too formal.

Looking to go in January so no places where there's only beaches to go to as prob won't be warm enough to sunbathe.

Thanks

NH Valencia Les Artes has two-bedroom family rooms so you don’t have to share. It’s got a small indoor pool, a kids buffet, kids breakfast and a play area. It’s also within very easy distance of Turin Gardens which has an even better play area and 5 mins walk from the Oceanografic which my dd loved and we went back to twice!

Can you be a bit more specific about what it is you actually want to do? January will be cold in all of these places, so presumably you’re after a city break as opposed to seaside? In January, I’d be opting for a winter type place and let your child dress warm and have fun in the snow.

Otherwise, if you want warmth, you’re looking at the Canary Islands. The Thomson Sensatori brand is very good; we took our son to the one in Tenerife when he was a toddler. Plenty to do around there. Lanzarote is very cultural. Barcelona also comes to mind …. Plenty to do, but also the seaside for walks.

@Oriunda I was going to say similar but less politely…. OP, your grasp of climate and geography seems a little sketchy!

If you don't want a kids club then the world (or in this case, Europe) is your oyster! Where do YOU want to go/do?

FleasNavidad · 11/12/2022 15:24

What is it you're wanting from the holiday? Portugal and southern Italy are very different.

Not sure why you wouldn't look to the canaries in January or Cape Verde

Bells3032 · 11/12/2022 16:05

I recognise that it won't be so warm in those places that's why I said I don't want beach resorts as nothing to do in the winter as not warm enough to sunbathe

We aren't bothered about the heat. We want somewhere with a hit of stuff to do thays easy to get about with a toddler

Magic Natura in Spain.

Zoo and water park on resort.

SixDinnerSally · 11/12/2022 16:12

@Bells3032 sorry if I was mean. You says probably won’t be warm enough to sunbathe, which made me think you were expecting warmish weather.

Bells3032 · 11/12/2022 16:21

@SixDinnerSally no I meant the opposite. I don't want to bother with somewhere like that as it won't be warm enough to enjoy that type of holiday

In that case, surely you're just after a city break, then? Resorts in Southern Europe will tend to be by the sea, and it'll be actually cold as opposed to not warm. So waterparks etc also out.

So you basically pick a country, city and then maybe people can suggest hotels with, say, indoor pools and play areas.

You're very unlikely to find much of anything in January apart from a city break - unless going to Canaries or North Africa the resorts will be closed. Kinder Hotels spring to mind - but that will be snow based. Skiing is optional. Or go to Barcelona or Lisbon or any other city where there is lots to do.

Barcelona with a toddler is fab - loads of child friendly hotels and restaurants and lots to do
