New York Reveal

I have booked a trip to New York for my husband and children and I planned on telling them at Christmas Dinner however a friend suggested doing it in a fun reveal sort of way. This sounds stupid but I half feel bad giving them a holiday as a present as it's nothing to do/play with immediately so need a fun way to tell them... but is a trip they've been desperate for since watching Christmas movies two years ago!!

I need some inspiration on what I could put in a gift box that would hint at New York or is a play on words. I see Lidl sells "big apples" so could include that but need some other things too

Could you get little ornaments of landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building and wrap them up in everyone's gifts? So each of them gets one and looks a bit confused and then it dawns on them that the three things equal a holiday...

Make your own crackers and put little New York related trinkets in each one

Start with hard clues then work your way up to the big apple at the end.

Which big eared elephant is the star of a Disney film? DUMBO

What is the name of the Beckham's eldest child? Brooklyn

The last question is a group one for them to work out what the link is and then they get to open the prize box of a New York skyline Lego, a rough guide and some dollars.

My DMum and DDad did something similar when I was younger. Quiz questions and each question I got right earned me a letter. Then I had to rearrange the letters to spell out New York!
