Disney Cruise for a 7 year old

I'd love to take my DS (aged 7) on a Disney cruise as he's mad on all things Disney!
I've no idea of where to look, things to avoid etc.
Anyone been on a Disney cruise and could share experiences?
Ideally I'd like to stay in Europe, will be first cruise so don't want to go too far afield.
Possibly 5 days or a week.
Don't really need any fancy extra etc.

Well your first port of call (pun intended) would be the Disney Cruise website I'd think. If I search by Southampton departures without a date it offers me 4 night, 7 night or 8-13 night options, and there only seems to be a couple of options in 2023 for each duration, not all of which are in school holidays.

There's a 4 night from Southampton on the 26th August next year, starts at just shy of £3000 for 2 people.

Have a read of this website www.cruisecritic.co.uk/ for a lot more information on all aspects of cruising including info for first timers.

Disney lines usually sail from Port Canaveral in Florida.

Disney cruises are brilliant - world class entertainment and the rotational dining is brilliant. Go to their website and have a look at European options. Most European ports of call you can manage yourself without paying for excursions.

Disney Cruises are fantastic. As a PP stated the first port of call (pardon the pun) should be the DCL website to get a feel for prices etc.

Next year the Disney Dream is in Europe sailing out of the port of Southampton for the UK start / end cruises but also departing from other ports if you don't mind the short flight. I"m booked on one out of Barcelona around the med for the May half term.
