Accommodation in centre of Amsterdam for 18 year old girls

My daughter and her friend would love to visit Amsterdam next summer.
can anyone recommend accommodation for them. Something like a hostel or basic but clean hotel to stay in the city centre.

I stayed in the flying pig hostel, it was lovely and felt very safe and homely BUT it was years ago!
