We're looking to make the most of the coronation bank holiday and take the kids on a treat long weekend. Thinking of either Billund for lots of Lego or Efteling. Kids will be 5 and 8. Would love thoughts and advice from anyone who has been. Thanks!

We were very underwhelmed with Legoland Billund and couldn’t help but compare it to Windsor, which is bigger yet cheaper. The only good thing was that the queues were short. The Lego House, however, is another story altogether! It was amazing and we were there from the minute it opened until closing time. The dc still talk about it 4 years later!
One of the lovely things about the Lego house is that it equally enjoyable for children, adults and teens. Your dc will still enjoy it in 5 or even 10 years time. In fact, I’d say they’d appreciate it even more at that age, so my advice would be to go to Efteling. It’s magical.

There is another recent Legoland thread > www.mumsnet.com/talk/holidays/4525465-Lego-land-Denmark-Lalandia-Billund?page=2&reply=121281959

Re. Lego House - while the children aged 5 and 8 will no doubt have a good time there, I agree that if you're only ever likely to visit once, then wait until they are a few years older for them to get the most out of it.

As pp above - when I've been it has been as hard to get the adults to leave as the children. There is so much to do that even a whole day can be too little.
