Which island?

ScarlettnotOHara · 12/11/2022 07:04

Ohh so jealous, my parents used to take me to Tenerife nearly every Christmas. Weather should be warm and sunny. I recently took my own children to Costa Adeje it’s a beautiful upmarket resort, lot’s of things on the beach even a very nice McDonald’s restaurant. Then you have the amazing water park and zoo close by.

PostAndGhost · 12/11/2022 08:32

McDonald’s, sport and fun pubs, hordes of people. Costa Adele has changed. Fuerteventura is nicer.

Morocco. Mine loved it.

Sunshineandrainbow · 12/11/2022 18:03

Thanks @Lysianthus I would love to go there. Any recommendations on where to stay?

Lysianthus · 13/11/2022 14:02

@sunshineandrainbow We loved the Souk and the Medina in Marrakesh but as it was just me and teenage DD we felt safer staying in the Palmeraie district, a quick taxi ride outside the centre. We did AI, again because it was easier and nicer to be in the hotel at night. Suggest you look at options on Tripadvisor but they are all pretty good and v reasonable. Mamounia, Iberostar Club Palmeraie, and the Barcelo are ones either we or friends have stayed in. If you go, the gardens and house of Yves St Laurent are beautiful. (Sorry OP for derailing your thread)

Oh thanks a lot everyone and sorry I’ve been away.
still haven’t booked but still keen to do it. No particular island in mind, I just want it to be warm and light, basically the opposite of here 🙂

I started a similar thread about Tenerife in late November! I think we are going to book for then as it’s the only time we can go now next year.
We Went late October/early November this year and weather was perfect,

I’ve been looking at travel vlogs for Lanzarote and Gran Canaria for that time of year and they all look pretty decent, as well though. low to mid 20’s, same for December.
Let us know what you’ve booked!

Fuerteventura is amazing with young children. Weather's nice in winter, warm but not too hot.
