I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a one or two night break for me to surprise my family with in West of Scotland. Ideally with a pool and includes breakfast and dinner on at least one night. Any offers or recommendations of places that a low key, relaxing but won’t break the bank 😆

West as in Glasgow area or west as in Ullapool sort of west?? Are Crieff hydro and Peebles hydro not west enough?

Redglitter · 10/11/2022 21:06

Seamill Hydro is lovely and right on the coast

Glasgow outskirts, Peebles, Crieff all possible. Just can’t be too far North as have limited transport options.

thanks for suggestions

Gleddoch Hotel, haven't been in a few years but had a nice spa break pre covid. Only about 30 mins from Glasgow.

The Dalmahoy on the outskirts of Edinburgh?
where ever you go, check the rules on kids in the pool as some are based in spa facilities which don’t always allow them in.

Thanks again, good point about the pool. I hadn’t thought of that!

Do you want rural? I'm just thinking if the weather is bad you might be better in a city where there's more to do.

ThisOrTha · 11/11/2022 17:38

That’s a good point about the weather! I hadn’t thought about that. I was more focusing on a pool as we can probably only stay one night so want it to be a fun stay that can be mostly hotel and hotel area based.

I came to say the Auchrannie but the ferries can be a bit hit and miss. I've never stayed at the Seamill Hydro (stay quite close) but have been for dinner/lunch and weddings and they've always been great
