Haven’t been to Majorca but worth checking out Menorca, my friend went this year and it looked lovely- Cala’n Bosch area, great for children

@ChickpeaPie Fabulous! I'll have a look. Thank you

We went to a fab Iberostar on the beach in Alcudia a few years ago. Great pools and very child friendly

Insotel Cala Mandia

Do you have a list of things you would be looking for in a kid-friendly hotel at that age? For example, if there was a baby/toddler club would you want to put DD in there while you perhaps went on an excursion?

The single best place I know of to take a 2yo on holiday in Mallorca is Port Alcúdia, simply because the far north corner of the beach is like an Olympic-sized pool that is 1 foot deep with no waves ever (the bay curves round like a snail).

There are plenty of water parks, cave tours, DinosaurLandâ„¢, etc, but it will depend on what DD likes and perhaps also what your ethics will allow. For example, there is a marine park near Palma with dolphins, which many children would love, but it attracts regular calls to close it down because of perceived abuse of the animals.

@samarrange that's really informative, thanks so much. Wouldn't want to leave my DD in a toddler club. She loves water and the water parks definitely sound good. Would avoid the marine park, but she loves dinosaurs; DinosaurLand sounds fab!!

We stayed at the Villaconcha in Puerto Pollenca after it was recommended on a Mumsnet thread. Fab hotel with lovely friendly staff. It has a great pool for wee ones and is a short walk from the beautiful local beach.

We know people who love Son Baulo in Can Picafort. They said there was a pirate show close by which was really good!

Tay17 · 10/11/2022 20:07

Forgot to add, I’m not sure there was a playground on site but apparently a really good one very close to the beach!

Zafiro Tropic , port alcudia.

loopsngeorge · 12/11/2022 22:03

I was going to suggest the Son Baulo as well. It's right on the beach, pretty setting and a nice stroll along the boardwalk if you want to walk into Can Picafort.

Fabulous suggestions! Thanks so much @loopsngeorge @tanstaafl @Tay17 @LadyNellCardross

@SpotlessMind88
I spent months and months researching exactly this for our first family holiday for next year. If you scroll the holiday thread you'll probably find some of my old posts!
We finally settled on Iberosta Club Cala Barca. We'll have a 5 & 7 year old by the time we travel. I had a small list of what we wanted our holiday to include and then dwindled the hotels down based on cost, transfer time, reviews and then some MN recommendations.

Have a look at the Puerto Azul in Pollensa. We went a couple of times with little ones and it was great. You

MrsPatrickDempsey · 13/11/2022 09:27

Whoops random you

Short walk from the beach and resort.

loopsngeorge · 13/11/2022 17:21

Oh yes how could I forget Puerto Azul. We went there several times and I would rate it over Son Baulo for hotel itself and the resort. Puerto Pollensa is gorgeous although we found everything three times the price of C'an Picafort.
