I posted the other day about needing a transfer in Tenerife, unfortunately that holiday has fallen through for a reason the tour operator has given, we’ll receive a full refund.

However, I’m desperate to get away and we leave in the next 5 days. We ideally wanted a bit of warmth and a children’s splash pool for my LO who is 16 months.

Where else can we go? Can’t go anywhere with Zika.

Any recommendations for European Center Parcs? Will there be enough to do inside if the weather isn’t good, can we fly?
Budget isn’t huge, just over £1k. What else can be recommended? No option to change the dates with work etc.

Where do you want to fly from? How many of you are there? Length of holiday? Board preference?

Fran92 · 10/11/2022 06:44

Any NW & 4-7 nights. 2 adults & infant and ideally want it to be infant focused.

happy to do all the leg work and search etc just need some inspiration for destinations, my mind has completely gone blank and I don’t know many that are family oriented. We’ve avoided anything family focussed pre children

This in Playa Blanca, Lanarote leaving on Sunday?

Dox9 · 10/11/2022 06:53

H10 gardens lanzarote. 1k might just do it termtime but I haven't checked prices. Very much kids focused.

TheFairyCaravan · 10/11/2022 07:05

What board basis are you after? There’s a lot of holidays to the Canary Islands, with both Tui and Jet2, leaving over the weekend.

Greengr · 10/11/2022 07:10

Lanzarote would be my choice

Fran92 · 10/11/2022 07:12

for some reason we discounted Lanzarote (think we thought it was colder / windier?) and opted for Tenerife but I can see a few are recommending it so will do a bit of research.

The say the resort of Playa Blanca in Lanzarote has the best weather in the Island

Fran92 · 10/11/2022 07:29

@Greengr Thank you! I’ll have a look at whats available, annoying wasn’t offered as an alternative when they’ve cancelled the original booking!

We’re at the airport on the way home from Tenerife. Weather has been great 26 degrees every day.
A friend had been in lanzarote at the same time. We’ve been comparing notes about the weather, and it’s been about 23 degrees where they are in costa tequise., so still very pleasant!

We have been to the hotel fairy caravan posted about, years ago and it was excellent, as was the holiday village in Playa Blanca.

Fran92 · 10/11/2022 13:23

Thank you, it’s so annoying that I’ve essentially lost money because the price of everything has gone up since I booked.

whats fuerventura like at this time of year?

There's a last minute availability search on Thomas Cook website that allows you to put flexible dates and multiple destinations and departure airports in.

lanbro · 10/11/2022 15:14

Gran Canaria & Tenerife do tend to be slightly better weather than Lanzarote and Fuerterventura but all will be better than here!

gogohmm · 10/11/2022 15:17

There's flights from Manchester on Tuesday to various canaries, TUI.

gogohmm · 10/11/2022 15:19

We did fuerterentura last November, it was circa 23 degrees but bring a jumper for the evening. Had splash area too TUI branded hotel

Greengr · 10/11/2022 18:33

Would you be happy booking independently so flight and accommodation separately?
That's what we always do and tend to book a villa not a hotel.
Depends what you want out of your holiday.
Flights are that expensive to Lanzarote next week, I use skyscanner to search for flights.

Seeingadistance · 11/11/2022 08:26

I’m in Lanzarote just now and it has been about 27c or hotter every afternoon this week. Seems to be unusually hot for the time of year, but a few degrees cooler would still be very warm.
