Anyone travelled to Dubai & Abu Dhabi from UK recently?

We’re travelling to Dubai, spending a few days there than a few in Abu Dhabi. I am just looking at Covid requirements, DH and I are both triple vaxxed so I assumed proof of that would be ok which this first pic seems to suggest it is. But then this second one has confused me. Can anyone shed any light. Also, do I need a PCR to go to Abu Dhabi? We’ll be doing some pretty big attractions there so do I need for entry?

Can’t talk about Abu Dhabi as I believe it has different rules to Dubai but when we went in May, we just had to show vaccine qr codes at check in (Emirates) and never asked for it again at hotel or attractions.
id have the nhs app with qr code just in case but we weren’t asked for it.

Had to show proof of vaccine for Dubai in July

Mookie81 · 05/11/2022 20:49

Went to Dubai in August, only needed to show vaccine passport from my NHS app (I printed it out). If you have only had 2 jabs the second one has to have been done a certain amount of time before you go away. If you have at least 1 booster there is no time frame.

We’re both triple vaxxed so that’s ok. I’m just not sure about the Abu Dhabi thing, I think we need a PCR to show the green pass. Or something 😵‍💫

Have you checked Emirates site? I found it clear and informative.

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 06/11/2022 00:23

Yes the above screenshots are from the emirates site. One of the issues I have, or queries is I’m flying into dubai, spending some time there then going to AD. From what I can gather if I was to land in AD I could get a test for 40AED to make my ‘pass’ go green. But Dubai you don’t really need to show the pass? And when I’ve tried to google if I can get a test at DBX it says only for ongoing travel to a destination where a test is required. and is 3x the cost of AD airport!

The requirements are not entirely clear to say the very least.

It looks like Dubai still want a PCR test done within the 48 hours prior to departure from the UK.

As of February 28, 2022, visitors are not required to show the Al Hosn green pass or undergo an EDE scan in order to enter Abu Dhabi from within the UAE. The green pass is still required to enter public spaces in Abu Dhabi.

visitabudhabi.ae/en/plan-your-trip/covid-safe-travel may also prove to be useful.

According to the above link re Abu Dhabi vaccinated travellers must receive a negative PCR test result every 30 days to maintain ‘Green’ status.

They’ve just announced that all covid restrictions are lifted as of tomorrow. Enjoy your trip. The weather is perfect here at the moment.

loverofpants · 06/11/2022 14:14

UAE have just removed all Covid restrictions, including the Al Hosn app and green status requirements so you will be fine.

feathersandslats · 06/11/2022 14:14

Returned from Dubai this week. We’re only double-vaxxed and showed Nhs cert from app, that’s all that was required. Only checked it outbound actually, at check in with emirates.

feathersandslats · 06/11/2022 14:15

Emirates also state when you check in online that you must wear a mask for the duration of the flight. This isn’t the case so I wonder if their website hasn’t been updated regarding covid info.

Yes, including Abu Dhabi and also on the planes. The only places masks are necessary are in hospitals and clinics, which hopefully you won't be visiting! Have a lovely time.

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 06/11/2022 15:33

Oh I am so happy, we’re going to the Grand Prix and it was stressing me out so much!

We were there (both places) last week.

Abu Dhabi needed proof of negative PCR test within 30 days, alongside NHS covid vaccination proof.

Sounds like you might be in luck though!
